In the world of basketball, the Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James and former professional basketball player Michael Jordan are easily considered two of the biggest names to have ever played for the National Basketball Association.
However, Hollywood actor Will Smith seems to have a different final name on his list of Goat NBA players.

Although he holds both James and Jordon in high regard for how tremendously these two professionals contributed and continue to contribute to the sport, Smith actually tends to differ in his respective opinion on who the Greatest Of All Time basketball player is.
And his response is one that might displease both James and Jordan’s die-hard fans.
LeBron James and Michael Jordan Aren’t the GOATs in Will Smith’s Eyes
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence recently had their latest film in the Bad Boys saga released, Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

Like Michael Jordan with basketball and Wayne Gretzky with hockey, Tony Hawk will always be the face of professional skateboarding. But if you encounter him in public, you might find he looks a bit different…that is, older. But ready for this? He did get older, it’s just not something strangers can get used to.
For a while, Tony Hawk would post on social media his encounters with strangers, normally with them saying something along the lines of, “Hey, you look a lot like Tony Hawk.” This, of course, makes sense considering, you know, he is Tony Hawk. But that he now looks like the 56-year-old he is is a jarring experience for people who approach him. “I think it’s more that people know either my name or my face, but a lot of times they see me now, and they think, ‘Well, I don’t think of him as being older.

Peso Pluma broke his foot during his headlining set at Governors Ball — but that didn’t stop the Mexican phenom from performing. Ben Affleck’s friendship with Matt Damon has been a part of what’s made their success in Hollywood intriguing to some. But there was a point where Affleck felt he might’ve been caught in Damon’s shadow.
How Ben Affleck felt about Matt Damon’s growing popularity after ‘Good Will Hunting’ Ben Affleck and Matt Damon | Franco Origlia/Getty Images
Affleck and Damon worked hard together on the film that would make each other famous. According to Damon, it started off as a paper he submitted to his Harvard professor. Then he brought it to Affleck so the pair could help the script reach its full potential.
“Matt said, ‘Look, will you help me write this? I’m not sure what it is or where to go.’ So we started writing it sort of back and forth,” Affleck once said in an interview with Boston.

It’s a question director Fisher Stevens said he fielded multiple times as he told friends and colleagues he had been courted to make what has become Netflix’s most-watched documentary of the past year. In discussion with IndieWire over Zoom, the multi-talented filmmaker revealed that he, too, was surprised at first to be approached with the idea for “Beckham,” and even a bit resistant to taking it on.

Many people have dreams of being an actor, sometimes in film and sometimes in television roles.
Some actors fall into the opportunity through lots of auditions, training, and from knowing the right people. But others get their start by becoming a famous name first.
Athletes are often in the public eye, gaining a following for being good at their chosen sport. Once they retire from their profession, some continue to grow their popularity through other ventures.
Many athletes turn to acting, whether through television advertisements and commercials like Coach Prime, Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, and Kevin Durant.
Other athletes like Travis Kelce, Pat McAfee, Deion Sanders (Prime), and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. do podcasts to attract a following.
Some celebrities do one-shot cameos, like Michael Jordan and LeBron James in Space Jam, Uncle Drew starring NBA star Kyrie Irving, Airplane! with Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Blue Chips...

Remember Space Jam: Legacy? You probably don’t. It was an ill-advised sequel to 1996’s commercial trash art classic, Space Jam. In the original film, global icon Michael Jordan is sucked into a cartoon world where he must assemble a team of Looney Tunes to play an intergalactic game of basketball against a squad of goons to save the universe. Legacy saw the same plot revisited, subbing in LeBron James for Mj, except being released in 2021, merely showcasing the Looney Tunes would not suffice.

For basketball fans already mourning the potential loss of TNT’s Inside the NBA, there may be some small consolation: NBC may bring back John Tesh’s iconic “Roundball Rock.”
NBCU is reportedly set to bid $2.5 a year for rights to NBA games going forward, according to the Wall Street Journal. If the offer is successful, the company would supplant media rival Warner Bros. Discovery, whose TBS and TNT cable networks began carrying NBA games in 1988. TNT has been the flagship Turner network associated with pro basketball, with its Inside the NBA the gold standard of sports studio shows, since 1989.
The NBA’s other two partners in its next contract are said to be Disney and Amazon’s Prime Video.
If NBC is successful in securing the third slot, it would likely mean the end of the Emmy-winning Inside the NBA, much to the chagrin of sports fans. But when one door closes,...

When Hayao Miyazaki’s long-awaited and supposed swansong The Boy and the Heron opened at No. 1 at the North American box office last December with a record-breaking $12.8 million tally, it was not only the first original anime title to achieve such a feat, but it was the biggest ever opening for U.S. distributor Gkids. It kickstarted what would be a whirlwind few months for the now 16-year-old company as it took the Studio Ghibli film, (which had opened the Toronto Film Festival in September) to an enormous $46.7 million box office gross (more than double their initial projections) in North America and, later a Best Animation win at the Oscars.
“It was the right film for the right time,” says Gkids president Dave Jesteadt. “The Boy and the Heron was Miyazaki’s first film in 10 years, and I think that a normal concern would have been if audiences had forgotten him,...

Following The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, people are pitching in names to be featured in a potential new Netflix roast.
Sports journalist Stephen A. Smith recently said that New York Jets Qb Aaron Rodgers wouldn’t be a good subject for the comedy special.
“No, because it’s easy,” Smith told the Associated Press on May 14th during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York City after the reporter suggested Rodgers. “With Tom Brady, I mean, he’s the golden boy. With Aaron Rodgers, even though I love him, a lot of people don’t. Because of that, some people will find it funny [and] some people will be intentionally cruel.”
Smith said that during Brady’s roast, “everybody up there had nothing but reverence and respect” for the retired NFL star.
In the sports realm, Smith pitched basketball stars LeBron James and Steph Curry for a roast.

David Beckham joined director Fisher Stevens, producer Josh Battsek and editor Michael Harte at an Emmys For Your Consideration event for their Beckham documentary Sunday night, as the soccer star revealed some behind-the-scenes details of his viral “be honest” moment.
Beckham quickly became a meme — and the subject of a Super Bowl commercial — when, in the documentary, he interjected in the middle of Victoria Beckham’s interview as she talked about having a modest upbringing.
“It was Victoria’s first day filming, and she was sat there in the lounge, looking great. She had the dogs running in and out and Fisher thought that I’d left the house, but I was in the kitchen making a coffee before I went to the office,” Beckham recalled. “I put the set of headphones on, and all of a sudden I heard my wife go, ‘Well, we’re down to earth.’ And I was like,...

Back in 1997, the touching masterpiece Good Will Hunting shined mostly due to the successful collaboration of the two best friends, who wrote the script and starred in the movie too. Apart from playing in Kevin Smith’s cinema universe in Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob movies, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck got back together for the 2021 mixedly received historical drama The Last Duel.
However, you may have missed Affleck’s recent directorial success, in which the duo starred and served as the producers. Based on the true story, it follows the launch of Air Jordan, a line of basketball shoes produced by Nike in collaboration with rookie player Michael Jordan.
Set in 1984, it revolves around Sonny Vaccaro (played by Affleck), Nike's basketball talent scout, who is tasked to come up with a new brand ambassador for Nike basketball shoes to raise the decreasing income of the company’s shoe division.

The nearly year-long span from discovering Janet Planet‘s existence to seeing a single frame was fraught with worry. What if the extraordinarily talented Annie Baker fumbled her transition into filmmaking? Nothing catastrophic, surely––no sane person’s faulting Michael Jordan for his minor-league stint––but to paraphrase Kent Jones on John Carpenter: America doesn’t have so many great directors to spare that it can afford Annie Baker failing.
From frame one it was clear no such thing would happen. Janet Planet‘s a case study in a genius trying a new medium––base understanding of its what and how and why, but lack of precedent or traditional method yielding something rather new. Ahead of the film’s June 21 limited release, A24 have released a first trailer, albeit one that sells a different movie: scored by the Roches’ “Hammond Song” and cut to emphasize some wittier dialogue, it...

If you thought Lewis Hamilton’s ambitions were only about dominating the Formula One world, think again. Not only is Stevenage-born a master behind the wheel of a racing car, but he also aspires to conquer the silver screen.
During a recent GQ interview, the seven-time Formula One World Drivers’ Championship winner (joint-record) expressed a desire to focus on “film and fashion” after retiring from racing. And it now appears that his dream of co-starring in Top Gun 3 with Tom Cruise, who made his name as the hotshot pilot Maverick in the first Top Gun flick, may come true.

Note that Formula One legend was earlier approached by Cruise to play a fighter pilot in the 2022 action drama flick, helmed by Joseph Kosinski. However, due to his demanding F1 schedule, Hamilton decided not to accept the coveted role.

The glamorous (and handsomely paid) actors and actresses who bring our favorite films and TV shows to life often captivate us, but let us not forget that the real heroes are the artistic wizards behind the camera: the directors. They are in charge of choosing the ideal cast and setting the overall direction of the production, which includes what you see on screen.
Christopher Nolan, the genius behind Inception and Interstellar, and James Cameron, the maestro of Terminator to Titanic who maintained the excitement for Avatar 2 in 2022, more than ten years after the first film’s release, are two auteurs who established their careers through writing and directing in their own iconic styles.

Michael Imperioli is giving fans a further glimpse into his acting process, especially when it comes to the difficulty of being synonymous with an iconic character.
“The Sopranos” actor revealed to The New Yorker that he can understand why certain actors employ Method acting techniques as “being on a movie set is very fucking distracting” to get into character. However, Imperioli noted that on TV series, he opts not to have crew members “be exposed to my stuff” when it comes to how he transforms into roles.
“First of all, to have a career in this business is extremely hard. To have a long career is even harder. To have a long career where you’re getting good work is almost impossible. To be remembered for something, to be identified with a character, is really difficult,” Imperioli said. “I’m not very public about what I do, process-wise. I don...

Their relationship has been a topic of discussion not only due to the 16-year age difference but also due to the complex familial ties, as Pippen’s ex-husband Scottie Pippen was a teammate of Jordan’s father in the 1990s.

However, more than a year after confirming their relationship, Pippen and Jordan chose to go their separate ways, leading Pippen to share a brief statement on her Instagram account. The post, however, did not sit well with the rapper, Mase, who openly criticized her in a recent episode of It Is What It Is.

Marcus Jordan, son of basketball legend Michael Jordan, has been in a controversial relationship with Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of another member of the 1990s Chicago Bulls dream team, Scottie Pippen.
After a year and a half of their relationship, Marcus and Larsa have unfollowed each other on Instagram, which alerted the public that their relationship might have come to an end. The couple first appeared on the scene in Miami in 2022 after building a friendship over many years.
