Based on the novel by Anthony Burgess, Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film "A Clockwork Orange" is set in the not-too-distant future when roving British teenage gangs have mutated into bizarre, ultra-violent, morals-free hedonists who commit crimes to their hearts' content. The protagonist is Alex DeLarge (Malcolm McDowell) a 15-year-old punk who drinks drug-laced milk before taking to the street with his gang of droogs to savagely and gleefully beat and assault anyone who passes into their field of vision. Alex is eventually arrested and put into prison where the government subjects him to bizarre new rehabilitation techniques in an attempt to turn his mind away from violence.

As the highest-grossing and most popular horror franchise across all forms of media, Resident Evil manages to stay in business around the year, bringing out animated projects, live-action series, or game announcements, never letting fans starve for brand-new grotesque content. Through two and a half decades, the franchise has revolutionized the zombie-horror genre to the point where the name itself has become synonymous with the concept. The recently released Resident Evil: Dead Island is the fifth entry to the CG animated Resident Evil movie universe, which also acts as filler content for the main game series, and for the first time, we get to see all the mainstay characters banding together to take down another T-virus-induced global catastrophe.
By now, the lore of Resident Evil has established a pretty straightforward narrative structure with all its tropes and distinctive characteristics. Edward Ashford, Oswell Spencer, and James Marcus founded the pharmaceutical company...

The big question for longtime Resident Evil fans with regards to Netflix’s new take on the franchise is whether or not it exists within the same canon as the games. Does this show continue or enhance the timeline of the video games in some way?
The definitive answer is revealed in episode 7, “Parasite,” in which we learn that the show’s Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick), father to Jade (Ella Balinska/Tamara Smart) and Billie (Adeline Rudolph/Siena Agudong), is one of several clones the Wesker from the games made of himself. We even see Reddick don the signature leather trench coat and shades for a short flashback scene in which the original Wesker physically and verbally abuses every soul in his vicinity, as only he can.
“I think Wesker from the games kind of gets pigeonholed into being this villain with a Superman complex,...

In the first season of Netflix’s Resident Evil, a diverse cast of screen veterans and young stars bring the sci-fi terror of Capcom’s long-running game series to life in a way fans have never seen before.
Before diving into the new Netflix series, here’s a guide to the main cast, their characters, and how they’re connected to the original games, as well as what the actors told Den of Geek about bringing Resident Evil to life…
Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker
This Albert Wesker isn’t the villainous, super-powered, leather-obsessed maniac we know from the games. Or is he? Fringe, John Wick, and Horizon Forbidden West star Lance Reddick takes the character in a new direction, with the once-big-bad, now-boring-dad moving his twin daughters Jade and Billie into the Umbrella-funded utopia New Raccoon City, where he’s a lead scientist for the Corporation. Albert seems to be a loving,...

When the first "Resident Evil'' movie dropped in 2002, it spawned a highly profitable horror franchise centered around an original character named Alice (Milla Jovovich). Inspired by the iconic video game series of the same name, the "Resident Evil" films lived and died by Alice, relegating characters from the games like Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, Carlos Olivera, Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Barry Burton and antagonists Albert Wesker and James Marcus to second fiddle.
The "Resident Evil" movies are more times than not, negatively received by critics, but the "Resident Evil" franchise is the highest-grossing zombie film...
