Director Scott Mann’s thriller Fall, which stars Grace Caroline Currey (Shazam!: Fury of the Gods) and Virginia Gardner (Halloween 2018) as a pair of characters who get stuck at the top of a 2000 foot tall radio tower, was given a theatrical release, but it wasn’t really a break-out hit. It made $21 million worldwide, on a budget of $3 million. More viewers watched it on Amazon, purchased it on Blu-ray or DVD (order it Here), or caught it on Starz or Netflix… and Fall was so successful on Netflix, it was enough to get back-to-back sequels greenlit by Capstone Studios! Mann will be writing and directing Fall 3 himself, but he has decided to hand the helm of the middle installment of this trilogy over another director. Or, as it turns out, other directors. Capstone Studios’ CEO Christian Mercuri has announced that Fall 2 is set to be directed by the filmmaking...

Fear reached dizzying new heights in Lionsgate’s Fall, a survival thriller from the producers of 47 Meters Down that was released in August 2022. Its surprise success means there are not one but two sequels on the way, and today, the Spierig Brothers have been announced to direct Fall 2.
Michael and Peter Spierig (Lionsgate’s Jigsaw, Winchester, Daybreakers) are set to direct the sequel. Scott Mann, who directed and co-wrote the first film, is returning to co-write Fall 2 with Jonathan Frank.
In Fall, “For best friends Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner), life is all about conquering fears and pushing limits. But after they climb 2,000 feet to the top of a remote, abandoned radio tower, they find themselves stranded with no way down. Now, Becky and Hunter’s expert climbing skills will be put to the ultimate test as they desperately fight to survive the elements, a lack of supplies,...

Late A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Last House on the Left and Scream director Wes Craven was responsible for some of the most iconic movies, characters and moments in horror cinema, but he was also behind his share of duds, and one of 'em is getting a remake.
Craven didn't actually direct 2006's The Breed, but he was a producer on the film, and recruited his A New Nightmare assistant director Nick Mastandrea to helm.
The movie focuses on two brothers and their friends who travel to an island cabin they inherited from their recently deceased uncle for a relaxing weekend getaway. The group is then besieged by genetically enhanced dogs bred to kill via an abandoned training facility on the Island.
The Breed was not well-received (to say the least), earning a 27% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, Variety reports that brothers Nathan and Griff Furst are set to direct a remake,...

Grace Caroline Currey has joined the cast of “The Breed,” and is set to lead the film. Directed by brothers Nathan and Griff Furst, the film is an “unconventional reimagining of the Wes Craven cult classic.” The brothers will produce together through their company, Curmudgeon Films.
The film centers around Currey’s character Violet, “a rebel icon and badass on a mission to search for abandoned dogs on a remote island which leads to complete adrenaline-fueled terror.”
Currey most recently starred in Lionsgate’s adventure thriller, “Fall,” directed by Scott Mann. The film follows two daredevil climbers, Becky (Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner), who decide to scale the B67 TV tower — an abandoned 2,000-foot communication tower that juts up in the middle of the California desert.

Good news for those who enjoyed the campy/thrilling delights of survival thriller :a[Fall]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/movies/reviews/fall/' } — and potentially terrible news for anyone who fears getting vertigo in a cinema or on their sofa. Following on from :a[word back in March]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/fall-sequel-in-the-works-after-success-on-netflix/' } that a sequel was in development to Scott Mann's high-altitude film comes the news that production company Capstone Studios is green lighting not one but two movies.

Get ready to fall even harder! Last year's surprise hit thriller "Fall" is getting not one, but two sequels. Capstone Studios, the company behind the project, feels strongly that they have a franchise on their hands and have now officially turned this into a trilogy. The first sequel is due to begin filming next summer, with much of the original creative team returning.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Scott Mann will return to produce both movies, and he will co-write and direct "Fall 3." There is no word yet on who is going to wind up in the director's chair for "Fall 2," or why Mann won't be directing all three films. Capstone may intend to do them back-to-back, which would make it more challenging for the same filmmaker to direct both installments. The first film was originally R-rated, but landed a PG-13 rating after some F-bombs were removed from the edit.

Fear reached new heights in Lionsgate’s Fall last year, a heart-pounding tale of survival from the producers of 47 Meters Down that was released in August 2022. We learned earlier this year that a sequel was on the way, but now it seems that Two sequels are in the works.
THR reports this morning that Capstone Studios has given the green light to not one but two sequels to Fall, with Fall director Scott Mann returning to produce the sequels.
Additionally, Mann will co-write and direct the third installment.
But first, Fall 2 is set to begin shooting in June 2024.
THR notes, “Fall 2 and Fall 3 will bring back original characters from the first film, while also leaving room for new ones to be introduced.”

From absurd dashcam footage to amusing cat videos, it’s pretty safe to assume that the vast majority of real-world recordings are completely banal in nature – so why is it that Found Footage movies are almost exclusively associated with the horror genre? If you really think about it, we should have seen major Found Footage entries in pretty much every single genre by now, and yet filmmakers still insist on trying to make the next Blair Witch Project year after year.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for Pov horror flicks, but I also enjoy a nice little palate cleanser every now and then. That’s why I appreciate rare exceptions like Dean Israelite’s Project Almanac, a sci-fi Found Footage romp that takes advantage of subjective filmmaking in an admirable attempt at updating age-old time travel tropes for a new generation.

Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin are spilling the beans on their upcoming nuptials.
The two made headlines in March after rumours spread that the couple had tied the knot after five years of dating. In a new interview with V Magazine, the two confirmed the rumours to none other than Dylan’s twin, Cole.
Speaking on the topic of having a celebrity relationship in the public eye, Dylan admitted it was a surreal experience.
“There’s a lot of demand from the general public for full transparency. Which is funny to me because no relationship is fully transparent,” said the actor. “This article, particularly, is timed up to the release of our engagement announcement, right? But we got engaged now, how many months ago?”

Before the 2020s, film archivists' worst nightmares were digital degradation or the simple loss of film reels. Now, streaming services have created a new one for them: the purging of original movies and series without a physical release.
HBO Max has been a leading culprit, but Disney+ isn't blameless either. This is, after all, the same company that used to place its movies in the "Disney Vault" during the reign of physical media. Beautiful Disaster is just the beginning of the cinematic love story between Abby & Travis, and to mark its release we had the pleasure in speaking to the former, chatting to Virginia Gardner on Zoom as she talks about the character and project, and what fans can expect of any future projects, with a sequel already in the works.
We spoke about the collaboration process with on-screen partner Dylan Sprouse, as she recounts how they first met, while we ask her if, and why girls prefer the bad boys. Something that we, quite evidently, are not.

A few weeks ago, we heard that director Scott Mann and the producers at Tea Shop Productions are developing a sequel to the survival thriller Fall (watch it Here) now that the film has become an international success on the Netflix streaming service. Fall star Grace Caroline Currey is currently doing the press rounds because she plays a role in Shazam!: Fury of the Gods, and during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter she indicated that she would be interested in coming back for the Fall sequel.
Scripted by Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank, Fall had the following synopsis: For best friends Becky and Hunter, life is all about conquering fears and pushing limits. But after they climb 2,000 feet to the top of a remote, abandoned radio tower, they find themselves stranded with no way down. Now Becky and Hunter’s expert climbing skills will be put to the...

[This story contains spoilers for Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Fall.]
Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Grace Caroline Currey quite literally put her blood, sweat and tears into Mary Bromfield and her superpowered counterpart.
Currey originally played young Mary in David F. Sandberg’s 2019 film, Shazam!, but ceded Super Hero Mary duties to Michelle Borth. However, with Mary now a full-fledged adult in the sequel, Sandberg promoted his frequent collaborator to the Shazamily, making her the only family member to play dual roles.
According to Currey, this scenario nearly played out in the 2019 film since Mary was right on the verge of adulthood.
“When they first cast me, they were toying around on whether or not to have the same actor for Mary, considering she’s the oldest of the kids,” Currey tells The Hollywood Reporter. “But now, with the second one, it was really neat to have that explanation that she’s an adult now.”

"...bad-boy 'Travis Maddox' (Sprouse) is exactly what college freshman 'Abby Abernathy' (Gardner) needs and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights fighting in underground boxing matches, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer.
"But Abby wants nothing to do with Travis. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis offers her a simple bet: if he loses his next fight, he must remain sex-free for a month. If he wins, Abby must live in his apartment for the same amount of time.
"Either way, Travis has no idea that Abby’s dark past is about to emerge, and he may have finally met his match..."

Though it didn't set the box office on fire Fall still managed to turn a decent profit, making $17 million from a thrifty $3 million budget. But Scott Mann's high-altitude thriller has been making an impact in another useful metric: scoring well with Netflix viewers, which is now leading into early development of a sequel.
The movie, which debuted last year, saw Shazam!'s Grace Caroline Currey and Halloween's Virginia Gardner as friends who ill-advisedly scale and get stuck up a 2,000-foot radio tower in the desert.
What follows is a tale of hot temperatures, hotter tempers and bad things for a vulture in particular. It'll induce a real feeling of vertigo, especially for those who experienced it on the big screen.
Yet UK production company Tea Shop has seen it find a real home for UK viewers on Netflix, where it has spent time as the second-most viewed movie...

More viewers watched it on Amazon, purchased it on Blu-ray or DVD (order it Here), or caught it on Starz or Netflix… and now Deadline has revealed that Fall was so successful on Netflix, a sequel is now in the works! The movie landed in Netflix’s top 10 rankings in 4 different territories, and has been the second-most watched movie in the UK for the last two weeks.

Exclusive: Chase Stokes (Outer Banks) and Sydney Taylor (American Born Chinese) are set to topline the YA romance Marked Men from director Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook).
The film written by Sharon Soboil (After We Fell) is based on the New York Times and USA Today bestselling novel Rule by Jay Crownover — the first in her hit series Marked Men, which has been translated into 11 languages. It’s being sold worldwide by Voltage Pictures, which is currently placing it before buyers.
Taylor stars as Shaw Landon, who has loved Rule Archer (Stokes) from the moment she laid eyes on him. Rule, a fiery-tempered rebel tattoo artist, doesn’t have time for a good girl pre-med student like Shaw – even if she’s the only one who can see the person he truly is. She lives by other people’s rules; he makes his own. But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails,...

Stars: Grace Caroline Currey, Virginia Gardner, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Mason Gooding | Written by Scott Mann, Jonathan Frank | Directed by Scott Mann
If you thought you weren’t afraid of heights, think again – this utterly terrifying don’t-look-down thriller from director Scott Mann will have you clutching the sides of your seat in sheer sweaty-palmed panic. As such, it’s about as perfect a closing night film for FrightFest as it’s possible to imagine.
Fall begins with a prologue, in which daredevil climbers Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Runaways’ Virginia Gardner) undergo a devastating tragedy while scaling a rock face. A year later, Becky is still deep in depression and trauma, so Hunter decides that the only thing that will snap her out of it is to climb to the top of the 2,000 foot B67 TV tower — an abandoned communication tower located in the middle of the California desert.

Director Scott Mann’s thriller Fall, which stars Grace Caroline Currey (a.k.a. Grace Fulton, Shazam!) and Virginia Gardner (Halloween 2018) as a pair of characters who get stuck at the top of a 2000 foot tall radio tower, was given a theatrical release back in August and can now be viewed on Amazon or purchased on Blu-ray or DVD (order it Here). One viewer who caught up with the movie on Amazon was legendary author Stephen King – and he was so impressed with it, he took to social media to say he wished he had been the one who wrote it!
King tweeted, “Fall: Tight, terrific, and very, very scary. Reminded me a bit of Duel. Wish I’d written it.”
Fall was actually written by Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank. They crafted the following story:
For best friends Becky and Hunter, life is all about conquering fears and pushing limits.

"If you're scared of dying, don't be afraid to live." Lionsgate has revealed another, extra official trailer for the survival horror thriller Fall, which has already been playing in theaters. It has been out for about a month already and is also on VOD services to watch now, with the Blu-ray release coming up in October. For best friends Becky and Hunter, life is all about conquering fears and pushing limits. But after they climb 2,000 feet to the top of a remote, abandoned radio tower, they find themselves stranded with no way down. Now Becky and Hunter's expert climbing skills will be put to the ultimate test as they desperately fight to survive the elements. Starring Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Currey, along with Jeffrey Dean Morgan in a small role. I watched this recently and it's the most edge-of-your-seat experience I've had this year with a film - utterly nerve-wracking,...

"Halloween" as we know it comes to a close when "Halloween Ends" hits theaters and Peacock on October 14. Over the last 44 years, the Michael Myers saga has bestowed fans with plenty of tricks and treats and numerous characters we've come to cherish. What started as a low-budget indie film helmed by John Carpenter, Debra Hill, and a scrappy team of actors and crew ignited a slasher phenomenon.
After 14 films, including Rob Zombie's 2007 remake and its sequel, the most well-known horror franchise is finally burying the Boogeyman — at least according to the original mastermind, John Carpenter. Although, Carpenter has said recently he wouldn't be surprised if the franchise carried on. "I guarantee you if 'Halloween Ends' makes a lot of money, guess what? Just guess what," he told a crowd at Pennsylvania's Steel City Convention.
We're celebrating the end of an era with a ranking of the franchise's 12 best characters.
