"Euphoria" and "The White Lotus" star Sydney Sweeney has been having a pretty stellar moment. While the actor has been performing since childhood, her star has been shooting across the sky in the last few years. Just last year, she starred in the thrilling drama "Reality" for HBO and the box office smash hit "Anyone But You," and is kicking off her 2024 by entering Sony's Spider-Man Universe with "Madame Web." But becoming Spider-Woman isn't the only exciting venture on Sweeney's horizon. She's also reteaming with director Michael Mohan once again, this time for the horror film "Immaculate."
With a script by Andrew Lobel, "Immaculate" is a psychological horror film wherein Sweeney plays Cecilia, a nun who is given the opportunity to join an illustrious convent in Italy. Her new home seems absolutely perfect until strange things begin happening around the convent, including what appears to be an immaculate conception.

Drum & Lace, aka Sofia degli Alessandri-Hultquist, is an artist and composer from Florence, Italy. She draws inspiration from film music, music concrete and nature to create textural electronica, often blending unlikely sounds with one another.
Her feature-length film scoring credits include Netflix film “Night Teeth” (directed by Adam Randall), campy-thriller “Deadly Illusions”, They/Them (directed by John Logan) and the just released Red, White & Royal Blue. Five years ago, 42, the British management and production company that counts Nicolas Hoult and Ralph Fiennes among its clients, made its way across the pond. Modeled on U.S. outfits like Entertainment 360 and Anonymous Content, 42 jumped into the crowded territory of American producer-managers, with a Beverly Hills-based office headed by co-founder and manager Josh Varney and producer Ben Pugh.
Early adopters of Netflix, 42’s slate has included streaming features like the highly viewed vampire movie Night Teeth and the sci-fi flick Outside the Wire, starring Damson Idris and Anthony Mackie. Theatrically, there has been the Cuban Missile Crisis drama The Courier, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, and Focus Features’ The Silent Twins, which premiered at Cannes in 2022. One of the key distinctions between editing in film or television versus video games is needing to find the best scenes and moments without being able to totally adjust the performances after the fact. This is one of the advantages James Cameron has with the "Avatar" movies, which are essentially hyper-realistic animated films. As a live action TV show though, and not a wholly CGI experience, the editing process for "The Last of Us'' was certain to be extremely different from how the game was made.
Like any film or TV production, not everything filmed could make the final cut, but with its A-list cast and crew, the video game adaptation was sure to face some especially difficult trades in the editing room. The thoughtfulness and precision that goes into the show's cinematography on a frame-by-frame basis further underscores this point.

Vampires are having a moment over at Netflix. Earlier this year, “First Kill” gave a lesbian coming-of-age romance a vampiric twist. And last year, “Night Teeth” was all about the vampire cabals that control Los Angeles. Now, Netflix returns to the San Fernando Valley for a new vampire jaunt, “Day Shift,” except this time, Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg are here to save the day.

Exclusive: Lionsgate is finalizing a deal to acquire a minority stake in London- and Los Angeles-based management and production company 42, we can reveal.
Management-production powerhouse 3 Arts Entertainment, of which Lionsgate is a majority owner, has been a key driver in concocting the deal and will look to collaborate on TV and film projects with the fast-growing 42 and Lionsgate in a three-way venture. We understand the pact will also include a first-look deal between Lionsgate Television and 42 for the U.S.
Lionsgate and 42 were unavailable for comment but we know the pact is almost done. We hear it is lucrative and well into eight figures. In 2018, Lionsgate bought a majority stake in 3 Arts which valued it at $300 million-plus, so given the sky-high valuations of media companies right now in Hollywood, it’s likely to be a fair chunk of change.

Welp, 2021 was certainly a year. There was a lot of good (Movies! TV! Books! Random Horror Awesomeness!) and a lot of bad (pretty much everything else), but we made it to 2022, and I am excited for all that’s to come in the next 12 months (at least when it comes to stuff going on in horror). Over the course of last year, I think formally reviewed over 60 films, did interviews for at least 20 other projects beyond those reviewed films, relaunched Indie Horror Month in April, and even did a ton of other features and articles on Daily Dead as well.
Suffice to say, 2021 was pretty darned busy for me on the writing front and because there was so much content that I absolutely adored, I decided that for my favorites list this time around, I wanted to do things a bit differently because if I dive into every single thing...

Netflix has set director Adam Randall for the adaptation, having just worked with the Brit filmmaker on vampire comedy Night Teeth.
Time To Hunt, which debuted at the Berlin Film Festival last year, follows a group of young people who commit crimes to survive in a near-future Korea hit by financial crisis.
The well-received original was directed by Yoon Sung-hyun and features a cast of rising Korean actors including Lee Je-hoon, Ahn Jae-hong, Choi Woo-shik, Park Jeong-min and Park Hae-soo. Rhee Handae produced.

Lucy Fry often plays characters with benevolent souls, so she jumped at the chance to finally break bad in Netflix’s Night Teeth. In the Adam Randall-directed film, Fry plays a 200-year-old vampire named Zoe, who, along with Debby Ryan’s Blaire, are trying to shatter a centuries-old truce between vampires and humans in Los Angeles. Oddly enough, Fry and Ryan were initially considered for each other’s roles until they suggested otherwise.

With no official word on “Dune” viewership on HBO Max, the world of home movie viewing still belongs to “Free Guy” (Disney/$5.99). Shawn Levy’s non-franchise (so far) action comedy starring Ryan Reynolds is the first film to take the #1 spot for four weeks on all VOD charts we follow. At Apple TV/iTunes and GooglePlay, which chart transactions daily, it’s held the top spot each day without fail.
Disney reduced the price to $5.99 last weekend and it bested “Old” (Universal/$5.99), which also dropped its price from $19.99. M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller placed #2 on two charts, #4 at Vudu (which charts by revenue; it was second to “Free Guy” there among non-pvod titles).
Two of the year’s most acclaimed international releases — Julia Ducournau’s Cannes winner “Titane” (Neon/$6.99) and Mia Hansen-Love’s “Bergman Island” (IFC/$6.99) — debuted this week but didn’t come close to the top 10 on any chart.

Photo: ‘Night Teeth’ ‘Night Teeth’- New Take on Old Trope If one thing is clear, there will always be an audience for anything vampires. From the 1930s film ‘Dracula’ to one of the biggest franchises ‘The Twilight Saga’, vampires have taken a bite in the film industry and are not letting go. Netflix has gifted us with a vampire original of their own, ‘Night Teeth’. While still holding on to the old rules that vampires can’t be in sunlight and a dagger to the heart is fatal, this film offers a new take on this repeated subject. Jorge Lendeborg Jr. portrays a young college student, Benny, who moonlights as a chauffeur for the night. When he picks up his clientele, it’s immediately not what he expected his night to be like. Debby Ryan and Lucy Fry are Blaire and Zoe; they have a list of parties to...

Exclusive: Paramount’s genre division Paramount Players has tapped Night Teeth and I See You filmmaker Adam Randall to direct the horror pic Curfew.
The former Blood List entry follows a rebellious teenage girl who is sent to stay with her grandmother in a sleepy town whose quirky traditions include a curfew banning anyone from going out at night. When the girl ventures out after dark she discovers the murky truth behind the town’s mysterious history.
Randall told us: “This is a fun monster movie that harks back to Amblin movies of yore. There is an intriguing conflict between the teenage girl and the older generations but it also has the thrills and action of a monster movie. It’s a great script.”
Script comes from Isa Mazzei (Cam). Jaki Bradley and Kevin Armento did previous revisions. Dick Grunert wrote the original spec that made it onto the 2017 Blood List.

“Night Teeth” never met a long-winded piece of exposition it didn’t love. As its neon-colored opening credits slip by, star Debby Ryan’s narration introduces the audience to a secret world of vampires. They are very real, she says, with a long-held, tenuous truce between the bloodsuckers and the humans keeping the bad stuff at bay. Most stories, books, films, and TV shows get the details wrong.
And then she goes on, and on: Her early promise to tell a new story becomes an excuse to unspool the many (many) rules that dictate this world. Vampires can’t let humans know they exist; they can’t feast on anyone unwilling; and they can never set foot in the East LA neighborhood of Boyle Heights.
What should be a fun addition to the vampire lore becomes mired in murky dissertations, nonsensical character twists, and a worrying lack of understanding of...

The vampire genre is a lot like a vampire: It has lived for hundreds of years, and every time you think it’s about to die off it gets an infusion of new blood. Since the logistics of neck-biting and blood-sucking are no longer incendiary, a vampire movie, novel, or TV series that strikes a chord will tend to be infused with a tasty metaphor, one that reaches beyond the “erotic” obvious. In the mid-’70s, when the genre had come to seem musty, Stephen King’s “‘Salem’s Lot” (1975) and Anne Rice’s “Interview with the Vampire” (1976) revived it by plugging the gothic tropes of old horror movies into the eccentric nooks and crannies of the contemporary world. “The Lost Boys” converted vampirism into ’80s youth-movie hipsterism, “True Blood” tapped the progressive side of vampires, and the “Twilight” books and blockbuster movies made the vampire into an expression of alienated teen-romantic outsider-ness.

Vampires haunt modern-day Los Angeles in director Adam Randall’s Netflix horror film Night Teeth. Sprawling with glamour and style, the city of angels is on display in this fast-paced, campy thriller. There aren’t many scares here, and it doesn’t cover any new ground, but it makes up for that with a grounded story full of high tension and likable characters.

I'll never get tired of vampire movies and I'm very excited for Adam Randall's Night Teeth, coming to Netflix on October 20th! Here's a look at the first trailer:
"To earn some extra cash, quirky college student Benny moonlights as a chauffeur for one night. His task: drive two mysterious young women (Debby Ryan and Lucy Fry) around Los Angeles for a night of party hopping. Taken captive by his clients' charm, he soon learns that his passengers have their own plans for him – and an insatiable thirst for blood. As his night spins out of control, Benny is thrust into the middle of a clandestine war that pits rival tribes of vampires against the protectors of the human world, led by his brother (Raúl Castillo), who will stop at nothing to send them back into the shadows. "Can't be alive for 200 years and not go a little crazy." Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for a dark action thriller comedy titled Night Teeth, another vampire offering launching just in time for Halloween this fall. That title is definitely a "wink, wink" that oh yeah, they're vampires. Jorge Lendeborg, Jr. stars as Benny, a college student moonlighting as a chauffeur. One evening he picks up two mysterious women for a night of party-hopping across Los Angeles. But when he uncovers their bloodthirsty intentions - and their dangerous, shadowy underworld - he must fight to stay alive. The film also co-stars Debby Ryan and Lucy Fry as his two passengers, with a cast including Raúl Castillo, Alfie Allen, Alexander Ludwig, Sydney Sweeney, and Megan Fox. This looks like another cliche "beautiful vampires vs other beautiful vampires" living right "under our noses" film filled with neon and late night debauchery in LA.
