The Canadian-born comic and actor, also known as “King Bach,” has in all around 75 million fans online, especially on Vine, the shortform video-sharing platform. Samara Weaving has earned modern scream queen status with roles in films like The Babysitter, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, Mayhem, Ready or Not, Scream VI, and the upcoming horror action movie Azrael, plus a few episodes of the Ash vs. Evil Dead TV series. Since Weaving has worked in both the Scream and Evil Dead franchises, she was asked during a new interview with Collider which horror franchise she would like to be a part of next. Her answer: Nightmare on Elm Street.
The filmmakers behind Azrael had originally wanted to cast Billie Eilish in the role Weaving ended up playing. So when she was asked the horror franchise question, she said, “Nightmare on Elm Street. I can do it. Unless Billie Eilish gets it now.“

Good lord, White Lotus. Save some actors for the rest of Hollywood. The third season of the HBO series is set to begin filming in Thailand next month with a massive ensemble cast, but hell, why not add a few more? The latest addition to White Lotus season 3 includes Walton Goggins, one of my favourite actors, as well as Patrick Schwarzenegger (Gen V), Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education), Sarah Catherine Hook (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It), and Sam Nivola (Maestro).
As with the previous cast announcements, there are no details on the character Walton Goggins and the rest will be playing in White Lotus season 3. The rest of the cast includes Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age), Leslie Bibb (The Babysitter: Killer Queen), Jason Isaacs (The Death of Stalin), Michelle Monaghan (Mission: Impossible – Fallout), Parker Posey (Scream 3), Miloš Biković (The Challenge), Dom Hetrakul (Bangkok Dangerous), Christian Friedel...

From the look of it, The White Lotus Season 3 cast is just as exciting as previous installments of the series.
The White Lotus Season 3 takes place in Thailand, with filming scheduled around Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok in February. The plot revolves around a new group of guests at another White Lotus location. Frustratingly, few details about the cast have been made available. What Is Wednesday Star Jenna Ortega’s Net Worth? (Picture Credit: Instagram)
Jenna Ortega is only 21, but her bank balance exceeds our expected lifetime earnings! She rose to fame with her role in Jane The Virgin, but it was Netflix’s Wednesday that earned her worldwide recognition! Scroll below for a detailed analysis of her net worth in 2023.
It would be safe to say that Jenna has joined the league of Millie Bobby Brown, Billie Eilish, and other young artists who’ve achieved milestones at such a young age. Many wouldn’t know, but she made her film debut with a small role in Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man 3 (2013). Clearly, there was no going back, as she’s been a part of some famous movies like the Scream franchise, The Fallout, and Insidious: Chapter 2, among others.

Consider the career of one Joseph McGinty Nichol, better known by the nom de plume McG. This is a man whose directorial debut as a feature filmmaker in 2000 was the paradigm-shifting, zeitgeist-grabbing, new millennium bar-setter "Charlie's Angels." Sit with that for a moment. His next film? The extraordinary sequel "Full Throttle." Mind you these were gigs that star and producer Drew Barrymore personally sought out McG for based on the music videos he made for the band Sugar Ray. One of the more significant sliding doors moments in modern American history is the fact that McG was the original frontman for the band that would become Sugar Ray, before humbly realizing his talents lay elsewhere and convincing high school buddy Mark McGrath to take over.
McG helped launch and executive produce both "The Oc" and "Supernatural," he produced "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll" and "Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious,...

Filmed near the end of 2015, director McG’s horror comedy The Babysitter was released through the Netflix streaming service during the Halloween season of 2017 – and not only did it help establish Samara Weaving as a modern genre icon, it also did well enough to spawn a sequel. The Babysitter: Killer Queen was released by Netflix in September of 2020. Three years later (and eight years after he was in production on the first film), McG has confirmed to ComicBook.com that he’s still interested in making The Babysitter 3!
McG said, “We’re still talking about it. It was fun. The first movie, obviously, gave Samara Weaving to the world, and the second movie was Jenna Ortega. Hopefully we can answer the call and find a third star that reaches those lofty heights.“
The director previously told our friends at Bloody Disgusting, “There have always been three beats to this story. There’s the first beat,...

Released in 2020, The Babysitter: Killer Queen was a sequel to 2017’s The Babysitter, bringing back the main players to continue the tale of a young man and his struggles with a devil-worshiping cult that just can’t seem to die. The post-credits scene showed that the Devil’s Book is still hanging around, but does that mean a third movie is in the works?
According to director McG, who helmed both The Babysitter and The Babysitter: Killer Queen, the possibility of a third film in the franchise is very much still on the table.
“Yeah, we’re still talking about it,” McG tells ComicBook.com. “It was fun. The first movie, obviously, gave Samara Weaving to the world, and the second movie was Jenna Ortega. Hopefully we can answer the call and find a third star that reaches those lofty heights.”

Jenna Ortega was the guest host on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, and it was only fitting that the show would use the young scream queen – whose credits include Scream 2022, X, Studio 666, You, Insidious: Chapter 2, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, American Carnage, and the Addams Family series Wednesday – in a sketch that puts a comedic twist on a horror classic. For a sketch that spoofs the 1973 film The Exorcist (watch it Here), Ortega stands in for Linda Blair as a possessed young girl who undergoes an unusual exorcism, courtesy of her neighbor. The sketch clip can be seen at the bottom of this article… but it’s geo-blocked, so you’ll have to be in the US or in a country that allows the use of a Vpn to watch it.
The Exorcist aside, I’m not a fan of many exorcism movies. If they played out like this Saturday Night Live sketch,...

Jenna Ortega is living the dream with the title role in Netflix’s smash hit Wednesday, but she has revealed she very nearly turned down the role.
Tim Burton’s supernatural comedy horror telling the story of young Wednesday Addams’ coming of age beat Stranger Things for the most amount of streamer hours watched in its first week on Netflix, where it became the second most watched English-language show in the platform’s history.
In her title role, Ortega has swiftly become a global star, not least for her dance scene in the fourth episode, which has become a TikTok craze, her fans across the world creating their own versions.
Now, Ortega – who showed off her comedic chops on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live – has revealed she initially wasn’t interested in the role.
She told the UK’s Times:
“No, I didn’t. I got the email, passed on it.

Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye has signed on to Trey Edward Shults’ untitled new picture. The film will team the musician with rising star Jenna Ortega and Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan. Shults will direct from a script he penned with Tesfaye and producing partner Reza Fahim. Tesfaye, Fahim, Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss are producing with Shultz and Ortega exec producing.
There are no details yet offered for the in-production feature. Shults has quickly made a name for himself via a handful of wrenching melodramas. Unless this new project is a major change of pace, audiences can expect the filmmaker behind “Krisha,” “It Comes at Night” and “Waves” to provide spectacular performances, an emotional workout and a relatively unhappy ending.
Chayse Irvin will serve as Director of Photography while Daniel Lopatin (also known as Opn) will provide the score alongside The Weeknd. He previously scored “Good Times” and “Uncut Gems” — the...

A strong genre hook is almost always a win at the box office, so it’s no surprise that Universal’s Elizabeth Banks-directed horror comedy Cocaine Bear enjoyed a nice debut weekend.
Outpacing early projections in the days prior to release, the film snorted up $23 million domestically and $28.4 million worldwide in its debut this past weekend. This put the movie in the #2 spot for the weekend, not far behind Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
The only catch? Cocaine Bear carries a production budget of around $30 million, so it’s going to need to do a bit more blow before it starts being profitable. But with strong word-of-mouth, it’s likely that the film will continue to make money in the coming weeks. Will it ultimately be enough to hit the point of profitability? We’ll keep you posted as numbers come in.

It’s the sort of title that sells itself: “Cocaine Bear.” It’s about a bear…who does cocaine. Who says the movies aren’t original anymore? But while that tempting two-word title sure sounds funny and frisky and different, imagine being the guy who pitched the initial story. If you think it’s wild that a film called “Cocaine Bear” got made — and is in theaters right now — you’re feeling a bit like its own creator: screenwriter Jimmy Warden.
Just picture those early pitches. “I think everybody was like, “Ok…great,’ when I was writing the movie, like, ‘Good luck with that,’ and then as it just kept gaining momentum, they have gotten pretty excited,” Warden said in recent interview with IndieWire. “I actually will say, to their credit, when I pitched it to [my family] — you know, because you go home for Thanksgiving or whatever it is and they’re like,...

The success of any horror-comedy can be measured by the number of laughs and screams it elicits. If it coaxes them simultaneously, so much the better.
By that measure, “Cocaine Bear” is a bloody marvel, an extrapolation of a one-line “weird news” story — bear dies by stuffing itself with cocaine tossed from a smuggler’s plane — into a brilliant comedy of errors and terrors.
Cocaine itself has, of course, been responsible for the creation of countless terrible screenplays, but as an inciting incident, mixed with the jaws-and-claws of a fearsome black bear, it provides a distinguished ensemble the opportunity to be (depending on the character) brave, cowardly, heroic, venal, crafty, panicky or, ultimately, dinner.

It is still early in 2023, but several movies have already left quite the impression on moviegoers, such as Blumhouse's killer doll flick "M3GAN" and M. Night Shyamalan's latest thriller "Knock at the Cabin." But perhaps the craziest movie of the year is hitting theaters soon: "Cocaine Bear."
Directed by Elizabeth Banks ("Pitch Perfect 2"), the film is actually loosely based on a true story of a bear that, as the title implies, ingested a ton of cocaine. What could possibly go wrong? The movie has an absolutely stacked A-list cast led by the likes of Keri Russell and Ray Liota, in one of his final performances. As for the specifics of it, the synopsis for the film reads as follows:
Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug runner's plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it, this wild dark comedy finds an oddball group of cops,...

Inspired by true events, Universal’s Cocaine Bear is on the way early next year from director Elizabeth Banks (Charlie’s Angels), and the bonkers official trailer has arrived today.
Universal will bring Cocaine Bear to theaters on February 24, 2023, and the first official trailer gives us a good idea of the film’s tone. It looks like this one is a bloody action-thriller-horror-comedy, taking inspiration from true events but going even crazier with the concept. What is the concept, you ask? Well, a bear gets really high on cocaine. And then it starts killing.

Two precocious kids, Keri Russell, and an apex predator on buckets of drugs walk into the woods: stop me if you've heard this one before. I know for certain you haven't, but you're about to, because "Cocaine Bear" is here and he's high as hell. The first trailer for Elizabeth Bank's latest directorial effort has arrived, and the upcoming R-rated horror comedy looks like a bit of a departure from "Charlie's Angels" and "Pitch Perfect 2." Bloody, foul-mouthed, and surprisingly intense, the red band trailer for "Cocaine Bear" is exactly as wild as the title would suggest. Check it out here:
Yep, That Bear's Definitely On Coke

This post contains spoilers for Netflix's "Wednesday" series.
2022 has been a banner year for Jenna Ortega. While she's been working for a decade now, it wasn't until her roles in "Jane the Virgin" and "You" that she caught the world's attention. She's since appeared in several shows, including "Big City Greens," and a slew of high-profile films, such as "Scream" (2022) and "X." Along with excellent turns in "The Fallout" and Netflix's "Wednesday," Ortega has commanded the conversation. She's more than a scream queen: Ortega is the moment.
Ortega's body of work also includes appearances in television series like "Stuck in the Middle" and roles in "Insidious: Chapter 2" and "The Babysitter: Killer Queen." Her other credits this year include "Carnage" and "Studio 666," a Dave Grohl-produced horror-comedy. Whenever Ortega appears on screen, you'll know it. She draws you into her world with performances that are grounded, authentic, and complex.

Stepping into the iconic role of Wednesday Addams, who has been immortalized throughout decades from creator Charles Addams’ original 1930s comic strips to Christina Ricci’s irreverent performance in the 1991 dark comedy, is a daunting — even frightening — task for anybody; aging up that character to explore the macabre performance that is adolescence in the modern-day social media era is damn near bone-chilling, and it’s an exercise that rising star Jenna Ortega approached with delicate gravitas.
“I watched the show, the comic strip, the films,” the title actress of Netflix’s “Wednesday” told TheWrap. “The script is written very reminiscent of the ‘90s take, so I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t ripping anybody off.”
Directed and executive produced by Tim Burton, along with co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, “Wednesday” presents a reimagined take on the world — and decidedly endearing yet dreadful girl — audiences have come intimately know.

We here at Bloody Disgusting are huge fans of Zachary Donohue‘s The Den, which is undoubtedly one of the scariest movies to come out of the 2010s. So it brings us great pleasure to announce that the trailer for Donohue’s next project has been released and it’s for a horror web series called The Unknowable, which will be premiering exclusively on Jackalope Studio‘s YouTube Channel on October 25.
The official synopsis reads: In 1948, World War II veteran Thaddeus Wilcox left in the middle of the night from his idyllic San Francisco home with his wife Fanny and her sister Mabel to a remote property in the Mojave Desert known as Silent Creek. Compelled by visions of a strange alien species, The Wilcox family spent the year attempting to make contact — but in that time, they would draw the unwanted attention of other more malevolent and unspeakable forces,...

Samara Weaving has lined up her latest genre project, and hopefully, it'll be less of a bloodbath than 2019's "Ready Or Not." No, actually, I take that back — Samara Weaving kicked butt in that hilarious horror flick, and it would be great to see her gear up for another fight to the death. Weaving is already set to appear in the upcoming sixth "Scream" movie, which will reunite her with "Ready Or Not" directors Tyler Gillett and Mat Bettinelli-Olpin, so why not double down and put her survivalist skills to the test? While her upcoming film isn't quite ticking the horror box, it certainly veers into very familiar territory by telling the story of a woman just barely evading tense circumstances to survive.
Variety reports that Weaving will take center stage in a new comedic thriller, currently in production in Vancouver. Titled "Borderline," the film follows a "helplessly romantic sociopath...

Genre regular Samara Weaving has a role in Scream 6, which just recently finished filming – and she’s already hard at work on another genre project, the comedic thriller Borderline. Variety reports that Borderline is currently filming in Vancouver, with The Babysitter: Killer Queen writer Jimmy Warden at the helm, making his feature directorial debut.
Warden’s Borderline script, which was once featured on the Black List, centers on
a helplessly romantic sociopath who escapes from a mental institution and invades the home of a ’90s pop superstar. He just wants to be loved; she just wants to survive.
Weaving is joined in the cast by Eric Dane (Euphoria), Ray Nicholson (Something from Tiffany’s), Alba Baptista (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris), and Jimmie Fails (The Last Black Man in San Francisco).
