SurrealEstate is headed back to Syfy.
The cable drama is getting a reprieve, one year after being canceled by the network.
The series will be back on the air in 2023.
Tim Rozon, Sarah Levy, Adam Korson, Maurice Dean Wint, Savannah Basley, and Tennille Read star in the series.
The series follows realtor Nick Roman and an elite team of specialists that handle the cases no one else can: haunted and possessed houses that literally scare would-be buyers away.
Researching, investigating and "fixing" the things that go bump in the night, the team works to create closure - and closings -- even as they struggle with demons of their own.
Syfy also announced that Chucky will be making its comeback this year, alongside the back half of Resident Alien Season 2.
Also on tap for the fall is Bring It On: Cheer or Die.

Taboo is a curio. The eight-episode first season aired on BBC One and FX in early 2017, and was immediately followed by talk of further seasons. Written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, the premise had been conceived by actor-producer Tom Hardy and his writer father. It was the story of 19th century antihero James Delaney, a man who scandalised Regency London by going up against the East India Company, the Crown, and societal norms until finally escaping England with a ragtag crew of ‘pilgrims’. Things were left on an ellipsis, not a full stop. And then… nothing.
Steven Knight, who’d worked with Hardy on Locke and Peaky Blinders, confirmed in 2019 that the season two scripts were almost written, but production was then stalled by a combination of the Venom movies and Covid-19. In November 2021, Hardy told Esquire that he was still weighing up the best options for a second season,...

Harry Vanderspeigle may be back in Patience, Colo., but he doesn’t have to be happy about it.
In the Season 2 premiere of Resident Alien, Harry’s ship crash-lands back on Earth, and when he comes to, he’s in the hospital suffering one hilarious identity crisis. (He even tells a nurse he’s an alien sent here to kill everyone, but she chalks it all up to head trauma!) By the time Asta arrives, Harry’s completely off his rocker, clueless as to who he is and what his mission was, causing her to work overtime to keep him (and the truth) in check.

Syfy has picked up the drama series “The Ark” from “Independence Day” and “Stargate” scribe Dean Devlin.
The series takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive.
Syfy has ordered 12 episodes. Devlin is writing the series, with he and Jonathan Glassner serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. Glassner previously developed “Stargate” into the hit series “Stargate Sg-1.” The pair also worked together on the fantasy series “The Outpost” as executive producers.

Prominent Arab world broadcaster Mbc is ramping up film and TV production in Saudi Arabia, where a slew of high-end projects in the pipeline is set to join U.S. tentpoles like Anthony Mackie-starrer “Desert Warrior,” which is currently shooting.
Zeinab Abu Alsamh, who is general manager of Mbc Studios in Saudi, said she has roughly 20 projects — both TV and film — in various stages and is looking to greenlight at least some of them for production within the next 18 months.
Mbc is at the forefront of the current Saudi media industry boom, which is being accelerated by the growth in subscribers to its Shahid VIP streaming platform. The service recently reached the two million customers milestone.
In terms of content, “Mbc in general raises the bar around the region,” said Alsamh. And when it comes to Saudi, which is in the early stages of building its industry, “it’s all about being supportive,...

In “The Ark”, Dan Wei filmed his dying grandmother in a somber black-and-white and a 1:1 aspect ratio. The film premiered at IDFA 2020, as part of the competition for feature-length documentaries. We talked to the director about this deeply personal project.
Why did you want to make this film?
Dan Wei: My grandmother had been sick for a long time. I’m the second son of her first-born daughter. At the beginning of this year, I visited her in the hospital almost everyday, while she was on the verge of death. She used to take care of me when I was a child. We were very close. It was painful to see that she couldn’t make it this time. I thought of recording her last days, as a memento. I didn’t have a camera with me, so I used my phone. “Some scenes may cause discomfort,” warns a disclaimer in front of “The Ark”, a film by Chinese director Dan Wei which had its world premiere at IDFA 2020’s competition for feature-length documentaries. It also reads: “The contents of this film have been authorized by the subject Zhang Xiuhua and her children.” Neither of these remarks are superfluous. In the one hour and fourty minutes that follow, we witness up close – very close – the final days of the filmmaker’s grandmother spent in a hospital, continuously on the verge of death. Shot in austere black-and-white and a claustrophobic 1:1 frame, the experience is harrowing, and at times difficult to bear.

Ms Zhang’s illness leaves her unable to speak. Her sons and daughers continously surround her hospital bed, giving doctors a hand where needed and doing what little they can to lighten their mother’s pain.

We’re still a couple of weeks out from The Boys returning with its second season, but based on the footage we’ve seen so far, it certainly looks as if we’re in for another wild ride. One that may even top the first run of the show, which was one of the best things that we’d seen on television in a long time.
Of course, trying to predict how something as crazy as The Boys is going to end up is a fool’s errand, but let’s not forget that it won’t be the only new thing arriving on Amazon Prime in September. Far from it, in fact.

An election season is fast-approaching in the U.S. So for its new releases in September 2020, Amazon Prime is bringing back one of its most political shows.
The Boys season 2 premieres its first three episodes on September 4. Is ITV really going to bring back Cold Feet?
That's the rumour, with the broadcaster apparently looking to plug the Downton-shaped hole in its schedule with a revival of the popular comedy-drama.
If it's true, they'll have a job bringing the cast back together - some have gone on to be huge telly and film stars, while others have stepped out of the spotlight entirely...

Nesbitt's carefree lothario Adam Williams met his match in Helen Baxendale's Rachel - the couple overcame infidelity and infertility but were denied lasting happiness when Rachel was killed in a traffic accident.
Since Cold Feet wrapped, Nesbitt has become one of British television's most in-demand leading men.
He fronted BBC One's gritty cop series Murphy's Law from 2003-07, led Steven Moffat's supernatural thriller Jekyll - also in 2007 - and played the title character in ITV's short-lived medical drama Monroe (2011-12).

BBC One's The Crimson Field is relevant to modern audiences because we are still making "the same mistakes", actor Karl Davies has said.
Davies returns as traumatised soldier Prentiss in episode four of the World War One drama, airing this Sunday (April 27) at 9pm.
"You're very aware through every episode that there would've been people in this situation for real," the actor told Digital Spy. "It's not a fantasy - it's based on fact and this is what we actually did to each other."
The 31-year-old continued: "You hope we will never do such terrible things to that extent again, although it doesn't seem like we've learned that much 100 years on.
"Unfortunately we still are making many of the same mistakes - they don't seem to learn, but they do make a lot of money out of war - that seems to be the overriding theme."
