Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
A surprise addition to my greatest shows of all time
Who would've thought a show based on League would end up being a Hall of Fame TV series? Overall package of animation and storytelling was by far the best I've seen to date. I could feel small pacing issues at times but for the most part the series smoothly transitioned from one epic moment to the next. There are some interesting references and religious symbols in this show, which I love being able to point out. Bravo!
Cowboy Bebop (2021)
TERRIBLE.
Acting was so atrocious and the overall aesthetic simply failed to capture any of the brilliance of the original. But not every show can be a hit. I can only appreciate the attempt but it was a poor one at that.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
Diversity is great but make it make sense
It's absurd to make the audience throw all concept of genetic lineage out the window. I'm all for blended ethnicities or ethnic diversity but seriously? You have 4+ ethnicities forming what I would assume to be a genetically linked group of people. How does this make any sense? Again, I have no problem with diversity or mixed people but the idea that you have distinctly different looking people that make up a village doesn't make any logical sense. This is 100% way too woke and disrespectful to a long-treasured fantasy series. Just my two cents.
The Witcher (2019)
I loved it
Epic Fantasy with a romance tied in. I put the blinders on and enjoyed this B+ show as if it was A+ quality because this is my weakness.
Kenpuu Denki Berserk (1997)
Remains my favorite anime
I wish anime had more Seinen series like this. It's unfortunate that nothing else has really come along like Berserk or that its sequel series was so poorly done.
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
Finally some Sci Fi content with high production values
I loved the animation style of many of the episodes in this series. Some of the stories were interesting. Some strange and seemingly pointless like The Witness. I loved the Good Hunting episode. I also appreciated the elements of hypersexuality and over the top violence, which we just don't get enough of in current mainstream media. Thank you Netflix.
